When Kumar Mangalam entered Amitabh Bachchan’s show, the entire set echoed with thunderous applause. After coming to the show, Kumar told that joining his father’s company was not easy at all. He revealed that he never wanted to become a chartered accountant, but due to family conditions he had to study this.

Father had given a big warning

During a conversation with Amitabh Bachchan, Kumar Birla asked him how he started his work. Then he told that after graduation I had thought that I would join my father’s office. Because he wanted to do MBA. After completing his studies, he wanted to enter business directly. But his father clearly said that he would not get entry into the company until he completed his CA studies.

Took command of the business at the age of 28

Telling Amitabh about the beginning of his career, he said, ‘I have not got everything very easily. I was very upset with this decision of my father. He spoke to his mother and grandfather while crying. But both of them gave the same answer that whether they do it happily or crying, they will have to study CA. Ultimately Kumar Mangalam Birla convinced his mind and completed MBA along with Chartered Accountancy. The result of hard work and discipline was that at the age of just 28, he took over the responsibility of his father’s business.

Today Birla Group is counted among the largest companies of the country. The group has a strong presence in many sectors like cement, chemical, metal, textile and fashion. With about 2.27 lakh employees, this group has made its mark at the global level. During his illustrious career, Kumar Mangalam Birla has also received many big honors. Recently he was awarded the Padma Bhushan. Apart from this, he has also won prestigious awards like Global Entrepreneurship Award, Global Asian Award and Economic Times Business Leader of the Year thrice.
