Often many films do such wonders that even the biggest stars start thinking, ‘I wish I was in it too.’ After watching Dhurandhar 2, which has become one of the biggest blockbuster films of recent times, Paresh Rawal also has the same feeling. The veteran actor regrets that he is not a part of this film.
Paresh Rawal regrets not being in Dhurandhar franchise
Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster franchise is breaking records worldwide. Meanwhile, Paresh Rawal also not only praised the Ranveer Singh starrer franchise but also spoke openly about his one regret. However, in a recent conversation with PTI, the veteran actor said that he would have loved to be a part of the project, calling the franchise more than just a film. Regarding watching both the parts, Paresh said, “See, saw Dhurandhar 1 and 2, saw part 1 twice, saw the second once, have to go back to see it. I should have been in it.”
Describing the scale and impact of the film, he said, “I loved Dhurandhar. It is not just a film but a saga. For the first time, I felt that I should have been a part of it. For the first time in my life, I felt that had I been there, it would have been fun.”
Paresh played the role in Aditya Dhar’s Uri
Paresh Rawal previously worked with Aditya Dhar in Uri: The Surgical Strike, where he played NSA Govind Bhardwaj, a character inspired by Ajit Doval. The interesting thing is that Dhurandhar also has a similar character arc, in which R Madhavan has played a role inspired by the same character. Thinking about this overlap, Paresh said that it was interesting to see two different meanings of the same character.
The actor had earlier talked about fans’ comparison between his role and Madhavan’s role. Reacting to a post on X praising his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike, Paresh replied jokingly. The post read, “I really liked Paresh Rawal in the role of Ajit Doval in Uri: The Surgical Strike! The only thing is that they did not show him smoking in the film.” Reposting it, the actor jokingly wrote, “Yes, did not smoke, just broke the phones.”
Big franchise broke records
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a two-part spy thriller, it is the story of an Indian operative played by Ranveer Singh, who infiltrates the gang of Lyari to dismantle a dangerous terror network. At the box office, this franchise has given historic numbers, where the first film had earned 1300 crores worldwide, while Dhurandhar: The Revenge has earned more than 1 thousand crores in just three weeks and has earned more than 1622 crores worldwide.
