A new chapter is going to be added in the career of Bollywood’s versatile actor and director Farhan Akhtar. Farhan is all set to make his Hollywood debut with famous Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes’ ambitious film series ‘The Beatles’. The most special thing is that he will play the role of India’s great sitar player and music emperor Pandit Ravi Shankar in this film.
Sony Pictures’ official X handle on Thursday announced new casting for The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. Along with Farhan Akhtar, the cast includes Lucy Boynton as Jane Asher, Morfydd Clark as Cynthia Powell and Harry Lottie as Stuart Sutcliffe.

Farhan Akhtar will be seen in The Beatles films
Farhan Akhtar will play the role of Pandit Ravi Shankar, the Indian sitar player and composer who became a cultural icon of the 1960s through his collaborations with The Beatles. The post read, “Announcing new casting for The Beatles – a four-film cinematic event directed by Sam Mendes. Farhan Akhtar as Ravi Shankar, Lucy Boynton as Jane Asher, Morfydd Clark as Cynthia (Powell) Lennon, Harry Lottie as Stuart Sutcliffe. In theaters April 2028.”

Praising Farhan Akhtar, his wife, actress Shibani Akhtar wrote, “The sun has come. Always proud of you @faroutakhtar.” Bollywood celebrities and industry colleagues also reacted to the post. Actor Hrithik Roshan reacted, “Wow!!!”, Dia Mirza wrote, “Stunning”, while Rasika Dugal commented, “Oh wow! This is super @faroutakhtar.”
The Beatles Movies: Story, Cast and Release Timeline
For those who don’t know, The Beatles is a four-part cinematic series that follows the lives of the famous band members who changed the course of pop music. Each film focuses on the story of one of the Fab Four. The series stars Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. These films will be released in April 2028.
