Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal has recently made a heart-wrenching revelation. ‘Hello!’ organized in Mumbai! While being honored at the ‘Hall of Fame Awards’, he told that Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster film ‘Dhurandhar’ was not just an acting project but for him a means to overcome the shock of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks (26/11) and take “revenge”.He said he had planned to go to the Taj Hotel, one of the sites of the attacks, to celebrate his birthday with his friends.

The actor said, “In 2008, during 26/11, I was in this very hotel. I had come to pick up my friends. We were headed to the Taj Hotel because we were going to celebrate my birthday there, and 26/11 was my birthday too. A friend was getting ready. God bless him. We were at the bar, we ordered drinks, and then the first bomb went off near Mahim. I heard that sound, and the glass panes They started shaking and rattling, and we started wondering, ‘What the hell was that?'”

Rampal told that initially he was told that it was the result of some gang war. He further said, “Within 10 minutes our phones started ringing, and everyone was saying that there was a gang war in Colaba. Within 20-30 minutes, the entire ‘Four Seasons’ (hotel) was surrounded from all sides. Adarsh Jatia (Managing Director of Provenance Land and owner of Four Seasons Hotel) very politely gave me a suite and said, ‘You can stay here tonight, but we can Can’t even let anyone go out, it’s not safe. And on the day of my birthday, I saw the horrific scene of 26/11 unfolding before my eyes.”
Rampal said that ‘Dhurandhar’ became “revenge” for the horror he experienced that day. He said, “When I was driving home in the morning, I had to stop at least three times because I felt I was about to feel sick. When Aditya Dhar narrated the 26/11 scene to me, I knew I would definitely take my revenge, and that’s exactly what I did in ‘Dhurandhar’. And all I want to say is – Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
In this film, Rampal played the role of ISI Major Iqbal. In a key scene in the first part of the film, Iqbal (who is shown to be the mastermind behind the attack) is shown talking live to the terrorists present in the hotel, celebrating, dancing and partying.
In this film, Rampal along with Sanjay Dutt, R. Many actors like Madhavan, Akshay Khanna, Ranveer Singh and Rakesh Bedi have also been seen. The second part of the film, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, is currently performing well at the box office. This film has been written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar.
