A new chapter has been added in the history of Indian cinema. The film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Dhurandhar 2) directed by Aditya Dhar is setting new records every day at the box office. The Ranveer Singh starrer, along with its sequel, has crossed the Rs 2,000 crore gross earning mark, making it the first Bollywood franchise to achieve this feat.

It is only the third film series to achieve this feat, after Baahubali and Pushpa series. However, it is the only series whose both films in the same language are included in the Rs 500 crore nett club, making Dhurandhar a true game-changer in Indian cinema. According to trade website Sacnilk, the sequel has grossed Rs 919 crore worldwide, surpassing Kantara Chapter 1’s Rs 852.36 crore mark, climbing the list of highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2 collected a whopping Rs 56.55 crore nett on its sixth day in India, taking its six-day total domestic collection to Rs 575.65 crore nett. Its total gross collection in India was Rs 687.43 crore.

According to a report by ‘British Indian Voice’ on X, Dhurandhar 2 has also become the fastest Indian film to touch the £2 million (Rs 25.17 crore) mark in the region. The total overseas gross collection of the film after six days stood at Rs 231.57 crore.
Trade analysts predict that Dhurandhar 2 will become the fastest Hindi film to enter the Rs 1,000 crore club. Next, it will aim to surpass the global benchmarks created by films like Pushpa 2, RRR, KGF 2, Baahubali 2 and its previous film Dhurandhar. The film has also benefited greatly from the discussions it has generated among the audience – these discussions have revolved around the film’s politics, content, music, twists and the performances of the cast. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor and Sara Arjun.
