Comedian time Raina was called to Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday, 24 March to record his statement in the India’s Got latent controversy. Last week, officials issued a third summons to him, in which he was asked to appear on 24 March for questioning. He could not join two summons, as he was in America for his show. According to the first summons, he was supposed to appear on February 18, but he was traveling outside India, so he could not appear. The same happened during the second summons.

Time Raina reached Navi Mumbai Cyber Branch for questioning
Significantly, Raina, who tried to avoid questioning, was invited to other accused Ranveer Allabia, Ashish Chanchalani and Apoorva Mukhija. The rest have recorded their statements in the last weeks and Raina, who was in the US for his stand-up show, reached the cyber branch on Monday. Time Raina and Apoorva Mukhija were first ordered to appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on 17 February to record their statement. However, Raina requested the agency to record his statement through video conferencing as he is in the US for his show. The cyber cell rejected his request and gave new dates.

In the popular comedy reality series for his sharp and objectionable content among today’s youth, Allahbadia asked a participant a question on parents and sex, which many people criticized and due to which a BJP official lodged a police complaint against the producers, judges and participants of the show.

In a waiver video on X on Monday, Allahbadia admitted that his comment was not only unfair, but also not fun. “Comedy is not my specialty. I have just come to apologize,” said in the video by YouTuber, known as Beerbieceps. “Many of you asked if I want to use my platform in this way. Obviously, I do not want to use my platform like this. I am not going to give any reference, justification or argument behind what happened. I have come here only to apologize. Personally, my decision making ability was lacking. It was not good for me.”
