Actor Mohit Malik, who plays the role of a gay man battling social pressures in the web series ‘Chamak’, said, “There was no hesitation in playing the character in this series.”
He said, “I had no hesitation about Chamak. In fact my director was hesitant about whether I would do it or not. He asked me if I would do it, because many actors had said no. But I saw it as a great opportunity if anyone said no, it was their loss.
The actor told that there has been a change in the graph of his character.
“I hope people can connect with her story in Season 2.” Because, that person has suffered a lot in his life.
To play the role of Guru in this web series, it was necessary for actor Mohit to understand the mentality of the character.
The actor said, “My process always starts internally. Understanding all the aspects of the character. Once you get into the character, you can present it well.
Talking about the performances that have inspired her this year, she said: “Vijay Sethupathi is a brilliant actor. I also admired Sai Pallavi in Amaran on Netflix. She has given a great performance this year.”
He praised the showcase of talent from the South and said it felt more “connected”.
“His films succeed because they have a clear purpose, unlike Bollywood, where there is often too much focus on appearance.”
Talking about reprising his previous characters, Mohit said that he would like to venture into unknown territory.
He said, “I don’t want to play the same role again. I want to do something that I haven’t done before.”
Mohit is known for his roles in ‘Doli Armaano Ki’, ‘Kulfi Kumar Bajewala’ and ‘Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si’.
She made her television debut with the TV show Mili. After this she did many TV shows like Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraya Dhan, Pari Hoon Main, Banoon Main Teri Dulhan, Godh Bharai, Durgesh Nandini, Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya and Phulwa.
