Salman Khan’s father and writer Salim Khan recently talked about marriage in his second religion, how to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at home and his open attitude towards religion. He told how he grew up in a peaceful atmosphere, how did he carry out family and his traditions and raised children with values.
The tradition of celebrating Ganpati festival started with his father
In a conversation with the Free Press Journal, Salim said that the tradition of celebrating Ganpati festival in his house started with his father. When he lived in Indore, his father, who was DSP at that time, maintained friendship and interaction with Hindu tenants, and shared food and happiness with no religion without discrimination of religion.

Salim Khan told that Hindu festival, such as Ganpati, his tradition of celebrating was long ago. He grew up among Hindus in his neighborhood, school and police stations. He said that his family had no objection to his marriage to his Salma Khan (Sushila Charak). He also told that his father -in -law, who was a dentist, objected to his marriage only because of religion, but after understanding his strong relationship, he accepted the marriage. Salim said that he and Salma are now married for 60 years and religion never came among them.
Salim’s thinking about religion
Salim said that his Muslim relatives never object to his decisions, because they know that Salim is different. Like other people, they sometimes drink alcohol, and beef is never eaten in their house. He told that the education of religion emphasizes the sanctity of cows, and Islam also adopts good things of other religions.

Salim said that he has read the Holy Quran in English and found that its messages emphasize humanity and are according to extensive Islamic principles. He also told about his work as a consultant in the 2013 TV serial Mahabharata and called himself an expert of this epic. On Manoj Kumar’s suggestion, he gave guidance to production without taking any fees and helped to decide what to show. Salim also remembered a funny incident when no one recognized him at Dilip Kumar’s house and asked who you are, on which he shared his experience.
