Protecting the personality rights of actress Sonakshi Sinha, the Delhi High Court has restrained several platforms, including AI chatbots, from unauthorized use of her photograph, voice or other identity related to her personality. Justice Jyoti Singh also banned the actress from selling goods using her name or photograph without her consent and taking commercial advantage of her goodwill and reputation. The court directed the infringing parties to remove the concerned weblinks within 36 hours.

In an interim order passed on the suit filed by the actress on March 20, the court said that she has the right to protect her name, photograph, voice and all other identities related to her personality and no third party has the right to use them without her permission. The actress alleged that two US-based platforms have used several chatbots which are imitating her exactly and creating obscene and objectionable content by presenting themselves as actresses.

He also said that some other organizations including unknown parties are taking commercial and non-commercial benefits by using his name, picture and voice and establishing false association with him. The court has restrained defendants number 1 to 17, including unidentified persons, from unauthorized use of the name, photograph, voice or other identity of the actress.
