Aditya Dhar was born on 12 March 1983 in a Kashmiri Pandit family. Aditya had to face many difficulties during his studies. Due to dyslexia, he had to work harder in writing and reading. But even after this he continued his studies and never gave up his dreams. After this he studied engineering. Aditya did B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics. Earned a degree in Communication Engineering.

Aditya Dhar wrote lyrics for films like ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Haal-e-Dil’ and ‘Kabul Express’. Apart from this, he worked as screenwriting and writer in Priyadarshan’s films ‘Aakrosh’ and ‘Tej’. Aditya Dhar worked as a lyricist and writer for many years. After this he decided to step into direction.

Aditya Dhar’s first film as a director was ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. Aditya Dhar got a lot of fame from this film. This film was an action film based on the 2016 Uri attack. Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam and Paresh Rawal played lead roles in this film. Let us tell you that for the film Uri, Aditya received the National Film Award for Best Director and the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director.
