Many big films are ready for release in the last month of the year also. Cinema lovers will be able to enjoy these films on popular OTT platforms in December 2024.
Platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, SonyLIV and Disney+ Hotstar will host these films, which include blockbusters like Amaran, Lucky Bhaskar. The end of the year is going to be action-packed for cinema lovers, with many exciting releases to watch.
South Indian movies to release on OTT in December
- Kanguva: Amazon Prime Video has acquired the OTT streaming rights of Kanguva in India for Rs 100 crore. The much-awaited film starring Suriya will be available to stream on Prime Video from December 13, 2024, in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, English, Spanish and French.
- Thangalan: Despite Netflix acquiring the digital streaming rights, the much-awaited OTT release of Thangaalan has been shrouded in uncertainty. Initial reports indicated a Diwali premiere on 31 October, but the film could not release on the platform on that date. As a result, Tamil movie streaming is in limbo. Fans are eagerly waiting for the official update to watch it on Netflix.
- Amran: This Tamil film is scheduled to release on OTT on December 5, but surprisingly it will not be available on popular platforms like Amazon Prime or Zee5. Instead, the film will release exclusively on Netflix, which has reportedly spent Rs 60 crore to acquire the digital rights.
- pot: After releasing in theaters on November 14 and performing poorly at the box office, Varun Tej’s latest Telugu thriller, directed by Karun Kumar of Palasa fame, is all set for its digital premiere. However, the OTT release of the film is expected to breathe new life into it. The film titled Matka will be available to stream on Prime Video from December 5, 2024.
Along with these South Indian films, Bollywood films are also going to be released on OTT platform. Fans are now waiting for the Christmas holidays, when they will be able to watch these movies comfortably at home.
