Various reports suggested that the shooting of Rishabh Shetty’s film Kantara: Chapter 1 was halted after a bus accident occurred near the set. However, a new statement shared by the film’s team on Monday, November 25, noted that the film’s shooting is continuing as scheduled and that no crew members were injured in the bus accident.

In the statement, a source close to the production confirmed that the shooting began at 6 am on Monday and the accident occurred 20 km from the shooting location. It further mentioned that the vehicle which met with the accident was a local bus and only a few members of the Kantara team were present in it.
The statement read, “This news is completely false. The team of Kantara: Chapter 1 started shooting today at 6 am and everything is going on normally. A minor accident occurred 20 kilometers away from the shooting site, “In which a local bus was carrying some members of the Kantara team. However, no one was reported injured.” Viral reports suggest that six of the film’s crew and supporting cast were injured in the bus accident. He was taken to Jadkal Mahalaxmi Clinic for immediate medical attention.

Reports say that the accident occurred when the members were returning to Kollur after shooting in Mudur, Karnataka. A report in News18 said that there were around 20 junior artistes on board the bus, six of whom were found seriously injured in the accident. Meanwhile, Kantara: Chapter 1, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, is expected to release worldwide on October 2, 2025. The film is a prequel to Shetty’s 2022 blockbuster mythological action film.
