BARC issued advisory
The Broadcast Audience Research Council has issued an important advisory. It has been told that following the instructions of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, weekly TV TRP ratings will not be released at present. According to BARC, under the new TV Ratings Policy 2026, the issuance of all TV TRP ratings has been banned until further orders. This means that like before, TRP data will not be released today at 11 am.
Increased stir in TV industry
After this news came out, there was a stir in the TV industry and advertising world. For a long time, it has been decided through TRP that which serial is being liked by the audience. In such a situation, due to ban on weekly TRP ratings, its impact can be seen on the TV industry as well as ad marketing.
The race for number one among serials will end
Till now, it was only through the TRP ratings released every week that it was known which show was the first choice of the audience and which show was lagging behind, but now after the ban on weekly TRP ratings, the competition to become number one among serials will also end. Shows which had low TRP may get relief from this, whereas this is considered a big change for the big shows and channels which are consistently on top.
