Bollywood actress and fitness icon Shilpa Shetty participated in the big program of the 12th annual International Yoga Day organized in Gurugram on Sunday. The theme of this year’s Yoga Day has been kept as Yoga for Healthy Aging. Shilpa looked very excited after seeing the huge crowd at the event. He said that there can be no better way to celebrate Yoga Day than doing yoga in a large group with people.
Taught yoga to children and youth with fun and humor
Shilpa Shetty told that she had a lot of fun with everyone while keeping in mind the correct technique of yoga. She said, “I also wanted to introduce yoga to the three-year-old children present here so that they can enjoy it.” While giving a message to today’s young generation, he said that Yoga is a wonderful science given by our sages. This is the best and complete way to heal yourself, make yourself strong, build muscles and maintain mental health, hence everyone should adopt yoga.

Shilpa’s inspiring story
While sharing an anecdote from her personal life, Shilpa told how she got involved in yoga. She said, “I had a serious problem of spondylosis, due to which my physiotherapist advised me to do some asanas. After this, I hired a yoga teacher. Gradually, when I got deeper into yoga, my entire life and way of thinking changed. It is a beautiful journey of knowing myself. There was a time when I could not rotate my neck completely and today I can do headstand. Yoga taught me that our mind is connected to our body. Much more powerful.”

Pranayam is the cure to deal with social media and peer pressure.
Shilpa further said that the best thing about yoga is that it has taught her to always be happy and live in the present moment. Nowadays everyone is going through a lot of stress. Especially actors, who are always in the limelight, and today’s young generation, who are under a lot of pressure from social media and friends. Shilpa said, “I feel bad for this generation, but there is no better cure for their stress and anxiety than pranayam.”
