Barker has confirmed that his upcoming horror film ‘Anything But Ghosts’ will not be a standalone story, but will instead expand on the ‘Obsession’ cinematic universe. Recently, during a question-and-answer (Q&A) session following a special screening of ‘Obsession’, Barker revealed the direct connection between the two films.
The link of both the films will be linked to ‘News Bulletin’
Kari Barker has hinted that the new film will directly reference the terrifying climax of ‘Obsession’ and the fate of its main characters. Barker explained this connection to the story, saying:
“The next film will have a news article or bulletin-like scene. In this, the audience will hear a news anchor talking about a sensational triple murder committed by a woman.”

Connection to the climax of ‘Obsession’ (spoiler alert)
This news bulletin points directly to the last part of ‘Obsession’. In the film’s chilling finale, Nikki (Inday Navarrete) turns violent under the dark magic of Bear (Michael Johnston). However, the spell is broken with Bear’s death, and by then Nikki has unwittingly murdered her own friends—Sarah (Megan Lawless) and Ian (Cooper Tomlinson). In the new film, mention of this massacre will be heard in the background.
