Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh on Tuesday reached the Chamundeshwari temple located on the top of the famous Chamundi hills of Mysore, where he worshiped the goddess with full rituals. The actor’s visit to the temple was not for any upcoming project, but to comply with a special direction given by the Karnataka High Court. This entire matter is related to alleged mimicry of the deity of the blockbuster film Kantara and hurting religious sentiments.

The officers provided this information. This temple is situated on the top of Chamundi hills. The High Court had last month quashed the proceedings against the actor in a case related to copying the portrayal of the deity in the film Kantara-1. The court’s decision came after the actor tendered an unconditional apology.
The court had also accepted the amended affidavit submitted by Ranveer’s lawyer and asked him to visit Chamundi Devi to atone for his conduct. The controversy pertains to alleged comments made by the actor regarding the film Kantara at the Filmfare Awards ceremony in Goa.
Ranveer is accused of imitating a god and calling him a devil. A case was registered against film ‘Dhurandhar’ actor Ranveer Singh on the basis of a complaint filed by a lawyer alleging that religious sentiments were hurt.

With this temple visit of Ranveer Singh, the Kantara mimicry controversy has now come to a legal end. The tough stance of the court and the unconditional apology sought by the actor makes it clear that it is extremely important to respect the sensitivity of religious and cultural symbols even on artistic platforms.
