There was silence in the theaters on the day of the release of Tamil cinema’s veteran actor Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s much awaited film ‘Karuppu’. The 9 am shows (FDFS) of the film, which was scheduled to release on May 14, were suddenly cancelled, leaving thousands of fans heartbroken.
‘Financial’ hurdles before release?
Some financial problems are being said to be the reason for this hindrance in the release of the film. According to reports, theater owners had raised some payment and financial issues related to the film just a day before its release. The situation became even more awkward when just a day earlier the makers had expressed their gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay for allowing morning special shows for the film.

‘Karuppu’ morning show canceled
Producer S.R. Prabhu shared this information on Posting around 1 am, he wrote, “Due to some unavoidable reasons the 9 am shows of ‘Karuppu’ are being cancelled. We sincerely apologize to everyone! (sic).”

Fans’ anger erupted on social media
As soon as the news of the show’s cancellation was received, fans expressed their displeasure on social media. Many people were more angry that they had taken leave from their office or work to watch the film.
Disappointed fans: “This is not acceptable at all. If the planning was not right, then why announced the release?”
Loss of leave: One user reacted sharply, saying, “I took leave from office for a special show, now who will compensate it? This is completely irresponsible.”
Uncertainty: Fans say that what they want is not an apology, but a firm date for the release of the film so that they can continue their celebrations.

R.J. Directed by Balaji, the film stars the brilliant pair of Suriya and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. Apart from these, many veteran actors are included in the film:
The film’s supporting cast includes Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Shashivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, Yogi Babu, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Marine, Aadukalam Narine, Namo Narayan, Deepa Shankar, Lollu Sabha Maran and Jaffer Sadiq. As of now, there is no update on whether Karuppu’s subsequent shows stand up to the promise or not.
