This web series Lukkhe is disappointing in a way, because instead of presenting a new story, it seems to be repeating the same old and worn out formula. The abuse, the drug angle, the cops being shown as weak and helpless, and the rivalry between the rappers—these are all clichés we’ve seen many times before. The whole story reminds us of Udta Punjab to some extent, but the depth and impact that it had, seems to be missing here.
However, the performances of the series cannot be ignored – the actors have tried their best to do justice to their characters and at times their work is commendable. But even good acting cannot save a story that lacks innovation and strong writing. Overall, Lukkhe remains a series which despite the potential, does not succeed in delivering anything new or memorable.
