Then he says that no one told him with whom he would be seen on stage. Just then Ranveer comes there and does his signature “Woo!” in front of Samay’s face. Let’s start doing it. Samay says on this, “Oh no man,” and walks away from there.
In an official statement, Kapil Sharma said, “The love that our show has received from the audience motivates us to give them fresh and entertaining content. On the occasion of World Laughter Day, we have planned a special episode with Netflix – which will be completely natural, funny and full of laughter. On the sets, Samay reported that in the episode that caused so much uproar, Ranveer asked a parent-related question eight times during the recording. He said that when he saw the edited video, he felt that Ranveer had said many wrong things, so he kept one thing and removed the rest. From his perspective, he said that 99 percent of the inaccuracies were edited out.
Samay also talked about the after-effects of this controversy. He mentioned the remorse he felt when his fellow comedians received death threats and legal notices, and also talked about how worried it worried his parents.
Despite this, she later indicated that she was open to working with Ranveer again. During an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Instagram, he said that they will be working together soon and also added that ‘India’s Got Latent’ will be back with the second season after a brief break.
Ranveer indirectly answered this in a recent paparazzi video. When asked about time, he said, “Time? What time? What time?” And then added, “This is our time, my time is now.”
‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy
The controversy started when Ranveer made a comment in ‘India’s Got Latent’ which many viewers considered offensive. He asked a contestant whether he would rather watch his parents have sex every day for the rest of his life, or stop it forever by getting involved in it himself. The clip went viral and caused a huge uproar online.
Several FIRs were filed against Ranveer and the show’s producers, and Samay and other panelists were also embroiled in the controversy. The National Commission for Women intervened in this matter, after which Ranveer issued a written apology. The Supreme Court later granted him interim protection from arrest, but also criticized his comments, calling them obscene.
Now, this shared history has become the main theme of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’s ‘World Laughter Day’ special. This episode will stream on May 2 at 8 pm on Netflix.
