Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), considered the lifeline of Maharashtra, has taken a big step to enhance its brand value and passenger engagement. Popular Bollywood and Marathi cinema couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh have been officially appointed as the new brand ambassadors of the corporation. This appointment was approved in a special program organized in the ministry on Wednesday. On this occasion, the formal agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

The agreement to formalize his appointment was signed at the ministry where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik were present. Officials said that Ritesh and Genelia will actively participate in the campaigns of MSRTC. MSRTC had appointed famous Marathi actor Makrand Anaspure as its brand ambassador in 2023, but he was rarely seen in the corporation’s programs.

Late actor Vikram Gokhale was the brand ambassador of the corporation two decades ago. MSRTC is the country’s largest road transport corporation, with a fleet of over 16,000 buses and a workforce of around 86,000 employees. More than 55 lakh passengers travel by its buses every day.
