They hurt me unknowingly many times, so I hold some grudge against them. I love them, but when a child’s heart gets broken, it’s forever broken. When you don’t have a safe place to run to, you start frantically looking for a home in everything. That’s what I did my whole life – just look for a home. Kept wandering.”
He also talked about the loneliness that came with all this, even though there were a lot of people around him. “From the outside everything looked wonderful – expensive wine, people laughing and singing; there were always people around me, but I was sitting alone on the balcony. Even amidst that crowd, I felt very lonely, but I didn’t know what to do or where else to go.”

He also told how difficult it was to give up old habits and muster the courage to start afresh. “The day starts and you get stuck in your old habits again. I prayed a lot to God, ‘Please save me, just give me one more chance’. I felt so helpless. You just need the courage to say ‘no’ to things. Family support is very important; don’t run away from them. When I removed all the bad things (toxins) from my life, I felt like I got a new life. Yes,” he said.
