Mumbai. Rajeev Khandelwal has many times shared his experiences of casting couch in the industry and has said that such situations are common where powerful people exploit new artists. Now in a new interview, Rajeev has again expressed his opinion on casting couch in the industry and said that he does not think that casting couch has decreased even now. I have to ask women or new artists whether they feel more safe? Are they also facing the same thing that we faced, when the industry was smaller and more connected, where there was no discussion on some things and people believed that this was the rule of the industry?”
Speaking to Free Press Journal, Rajeev Khandelwal said, “Unless I talk to them, I won’t know what I am missing. But when I read news from different platforms, channels, newspapers, I don’t see any flaw in casting couch. Sometimes I look at it from a different perspective.”
Rajeev Khandelwal further said, “I understand that sometimes you surrender yourself in your weak state, but you are also looking for the easy way out. You surrender yourself in your emotional or vulnerable state. You are also looking for the easy way out, otherwise you would have fought like others who do.”
Rajeev Khandelwal said that people choose the easy path
Rajiv Khandelawal said that when he hears that someone was harassed for years, the question that comes to his mind is, “Why did you stay there for years? Maybe you were also looking for the easy way out. Now things did not happen the way you wanted, so now you are calling it exploitation. Certainly someone was exploiting you in your weak state, but you were also looking for the easy way out.”
