Farida Jalal is known for her supporting roles in films and even today she remains in the hearts of the audience with her hard work and acting. She never got a chance to become a lead actress in films, but she has made a name for herself with each of her characters. However, apart from acting, Farida was also fond of dancing since childhood.
Got my first opportunity from the film ‘Taqdeer’
Farida Jalal started her career with Filmfare’s United Producers Talent Hunt, where reading scripts in front of 12 cameras was new and challenging for her. In this competition, he proved his ability and made it to the finals. Only after this he got his first film ‘Taqdeer’. Farida told that before coming into films, her real surname was Shami, but the producer believed that ‘Shami’ did not fit with her personality, so she changed her surname to Jalal. Farida worked in more than 200 films in her career, in which she played the roles of sister, mother, fiancee and friend. His comic timing and simplicity made him a favorite of the audience.
Parents divorced in childhood
Farida’s childhood was no less than a film story. His parents were divorced during his childhood, but despite this he and his elder brother got the opportunity to study in good schools. In school, Farida always participated in dance functions and it was during this time that she developed a passion for acting and dance.
