Netflix documentary Nayantara: The ongoing controversy between actress Nayantara and Dhanush has taken a new turn over the inclusion of scenes behind the film Nanum Rowdy Paddy in Beyond the Fairy Tail. This time, Dhanush, who is also the producer of the film, has once again come into the controversy, she has made a scathing attack on Nayantara and her husband, film director Vignesh Shivan, and both have made many allegations. Dhanush has also filed a new case, demanding compensation of Rs 1 crore.
Various National Media Outlets have reported the latest legal move of Dhanush against Nayantara and Vignesh Shivan. Dhanush has filed a civil case, in which he has been accused of using Nanum Rowdy Paddy scenes without permission in Documentary Nayantara: Beyond the Fairy Tail. His production company, Wonderbar Films Private Limited, is demanding a total compensation of Rs 1 crore.

In his affidavit presented in the court, actor Dhanush alleged that director Vignesh Shivan’s behavior during the shooting of the film Nanum Rowdy Paddy was poor and non-professional. He claimed that Vignesh was focused only on Nayantara and his scenes, while he disregarded other actors and crew members. According to the Dhanush’s affidavit, ‘the fourth accused (Vignesh Shivan) unnecessarily started focusing on the third accused (Nayantara). He ignored other actors and crew members, repeatedly shooting scenes associated with the third accused. He ensured that only they do well and do not give priority to other actors. ‘

On the occasion of Nayantara’s 40th birthday, Netflix documentary Nayantara: The issue arose after the release of Beyond the Fairy Tail. The documentary, which has some brief clips from Nanum Rowdy Paddy, motivated Dhanush to send a legal notice to Nayantara, alleging copyright violations and sought a compensation of Rs 15 lakh. 100 million. This was the beginning of conflict between the two sides. Subsequently, Nayantara publicly responded, which further increased the dispute.
