Delhi High Court granted bail to Rajpal Yadav in the 2018 check bounce case on Monday, February 16. After failing to fulfill payment promises made to the court, the actor was asked to surrender in Tihar jail in the first week of February. Last week, the Delhi High Court had postponed his bail application. However, now he has finally got relief in this case. A few days after film celebrities and others came forward for financial help, Rajpal got bail, meaning the actor would be released from jail.
Rajpal Yadav gets bail in check bounce case
Rajpal Yadav will remain out of Tihar Jail till March 18, when the court will hear his case next. The Delhi High Court gave this order after he paid Rs 1.5 crore to the complainant in his long-running check-bounce case. This payment was an important condition for his release for some time. The court also said that Rajpal Yadav’s niece’s wedding was on February 19, so he was granted relief, giving him time to attend the family function before the matter comes back to court.

Earlier, Rajpal Yadav was asked to surrender as he was a repeat defaulter. He had promised to make payment to the complainant, Murali Projects Private Limited, under an agreement. However, this was not accomplished. After several warnings, the Delhi High Court took strict action against him on February 2.
Last week, while hearing the bail plea, Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma said that Rajpal Yadav did not go to jail just because the court had given an order. He said he was jailed because he failed to follow the deal he had agreed to.
Bollywood rallies for Rajpal Yadav
Actor and social worker Sonu Sood became the first celebrity to extend his support for Yadav. He offered to help the actor by involving him in his next project and also urged actors, filmmakers and producers to give advance payment to “gifted actors” for their work.

According to reports, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Varun Dhawan are among those who have provided financial help in these difficult times. Gurmeet Choudhary, Elvish Yadav, Guru Randhawa, KRK, Rao Inderjit Yadav and others have also extended financial help to help the actor.
Industry bodies like Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) publicly appealed to the entire film and TV community to provide moral and financial support to Rajpal Yadav.

He ordered stay of sentence on the condition that Yadav furnish a personal bond of ₹1 lakh and a surety of like amount.
