Aashka Goradia has worked in many hit shows in her career. Now this beauty has become the owner of a popular makeup brand. Aashka said goodbye to the industry at the peak of her career and chose a different path. The actress founded a company whose value today is Rs 1200 crore.
Aashka entered the world of TV in 2002 with ‘Achanak 37 Saal Baad’. After that she worked in shows like ‘Bhabhi’ and ‘Tum Bin Jaun Kahan’. However, the actress got popularity from Kusum. After this, the actress worked in many hit shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Sindoor Tere Naam Ka’ and ‘Nagin’.
Not only fiction shows but Aashka has also worked in many reality shows. He has been seen in ‘Bigg Boss 6’, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4’, ‘Nach Baliye 4’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 4’. The actress was last seen in 2019 in the reality show Kitchen Champion 5.
Brand launched in 2018
After this, the actress decided to say goodbye to acting so that she could focus completely on her business. A year before leaving acting, Aashka had started Rene Cosmetics in 2018. He launched this brand along with Priyank Shah and Ashutosh Balani.
This is the same team that had earlier created men’s grooming brand Beardo. Regarding her brand, Aashka said, ‘The experience of being in front of the camera for years made me understand the depth of makeup. I believe that makeup has the power that can completely transform any person.
Started with 50 lakhs
It is with this passion that I started the RENEE brand.’Aashka started RENEE with just Rs 50 lakh. It was a digital first brand, which was initially available only on online platforms. Its products started being sold on big e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Nykaa and Myntra. The brand gradually entered the offline market also. The prices of the products were decided keeping in mind the women of Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, so that the brand could reach the common people.
Due to this smart strategy, Rene started competing with big brands like Lakme, Maybelline, myglamm and Sugar. The brand earned Rs 100 crore in just two years and then with steady growth it reached a valuation of Rs 1200 crore today. In 2024, the value of Rene Cosmetics was estimated to increase from Rs 1200 crore to Rs 1400 crore. This figure came to light when the company secured funding of Rs 100 crore.
