Arvind Trivedi himself revealed himself that he was not the first choice for the role of Ravana. Before him, Bollywood’s villain Amrish Puri was offered for this role. But he refused, after which this role was hit by Arvind Trivedi and he did wonders as Ravana.
This was how Ravana’s role was found
Arvind Trivedi told about his casting in an interview to BBC. He said that I came to audition for the role of Kewat. He said- ‘Everyone wanted Amrish Puri to play the role of Ravana. When I was leaving from there, I saw Ramanand Sagar on my body and attitude. He said on seeing me- I have found my Ravan.
Team refuses
Arvind Trivedi further said- ‘The whole team and Arun Govil had explained to Ramanand Sagar that Amrish Puri is perfectly fit for the role of Ravana. But Ramanand Sagar did not listen to anyone and finalized me for the role of Ravana.
When Arvind Trivedi came on TV as Ravan, everyone became a fan of his acting. He played a negative character in such a way that people started hating him.
